In today’s corporate environment, organisations are increasingly aware of their role in the society in which they operate. Businesses have to become socially conscious and responsible on top of profitability and financial success. This has led to a rise in investors, venture capitalists and other stakeholders implementing Environmental, Social and Governance criteria (ESG) in order to assess the effects of their investments.
Environmental criteria assess how an organisation performs as a steward of nature. This includes the energy consumption and waste management of their operations as well as carbon emissions and how it is contributing to combating climate change.
Social criteria examine how it manages relationships with its employees, suppliers, customers, the communities where it operates and other stakeholders. This element also includes how the organisation promotes diversity and inclusion in its workforce and operations.
Governance deals with a company’s leadership, executive pay, audits, internal controls, and shareholder rights. These criteria enable companies and their investors to become more socially responsible and sustainable. With a company being a legal entity in its own right, it is obligated to comply with the laws and regulations of the countries in which it operates.
Register today for this enlightening Masterclass on 26th May 2022, as we explore more about ESG and how we can prepare ourselves and our organisations to be more sustainable and have a greater positive impact.

I believe that those of us who are privileged enough to be educated, healthy, and part of powerful networks should not be doing easy things. The only way to justify our privilege is to do the hard things that society demands of us — to solve tough problems and create opportunities for others. I launched The Room to bring the most ambitious ‘doers’ together to do these hard things that will change the world. I welcome you to be a part of our story and join this global community as we make history together.
